  • The main reason Clip Art is no longer provided with the software is due to the trend toward electronic distribution. Users complain enough about the time involved in downloading updates (IIRC, you're one of them), let alone having 50 Gigs of media files - most of which they'll never use - clogging up their bandwidth & occupying disk space.

The areas that appear in purple are the areas that Word has determined are background areas that it needs to remove. If there is purple on any areas of your image that you want to keep, you can drag the handles of the bounding box that appears over the image. Drag the handles outward to keep more of the image.
